Well done to the Under 17 lads who narrowly defeated Farsley in their first encounter of the season. Thanks to the lads who looked after the younger boys who filled in. Great result lads ......

There will be no junior training tonight Monday. For health and safety reasons there are not enough coaches available. Friday as normal weather permitting. The U17 can come tomorrow night as I understand the senior teams are having a net although no one has told me officially.

The second XI has a great result away to Gomersal today.Well done Andy Newby for a great top score with the bat. New Signing Wayne Robinson was on fire with the ball getting 4 wickets for just 4 runs off 7 overs.

The First XI were not as successful going down to Bradford and Bingley scoring just 76 and were all out in 23.2 overs. In mitigation, there were a number of players missing. You can view the scorecard Here

The season is up and running. Both teams have a Bye in the first round of the Priestley Cup and Shield, an opportunity for the 1st Team to re-group.

Well done to Eddie and Phil for getting the ground playable. 12 hours before it was looking really dodgy.

Its Friday and yet again , under threat of my life there is no training again. However , Tuesday next Tong School has been booked for an outdoor session 6 till 7. See u there hopefully kieran

All, see below message from the Bradford Junior cricket league
To all club secretaries,

Due to the weather over the last week and forecast for tomorrow, it has been decided to cancel the under 17 games on Wednesday evening and the under 13 games on Thursday evening.
We have taken into consideration the current state of pitches and the lack of time that grounds men have had to prepare pitches for senior teams let alone junior sides.

The games will be played at the end of the season as below:

Under 17 North – Wednesday 8th August with a 6pm start.
Under 17 South – Wednesday 1st August with a 6.30pm start.

The match between Bowling Old Lane and East Bierley, which was supposed to have been played on the 1st August, will now be put back to the 8th August.

Under 13 North – Thursday 9th August with a 6pm start.
Under 13 South – Thursday 2nd August with a 6.30pm start.

The match between Liversedge and Pudsey Congs, which was supposed to have been played on the 2nd August, will now be put back to the 9th August.

Can I remind all clubs that if a senior match is being played on the same day as a junior match can the matches be started by 9.30am and if required a reduction in overs considered.

The details will be published on the website in due course.

Sunday 29th April Fixtures Cancelled


As you are all aware the Bradford area has been suffering from particularly wet weather over the past few days. This has resulted in difficulties for many groundsmen and a number of grounds are literally under water. The weather forecast for tomorrow and Saturday is not promising.

Following discusions and inspections the Executive have decided to postpone this Sunday's fixtures. We believe that this is the correct decision under the circumstances for both clubs and the league as a whole.

The games will now be played on Sunday 12th August 2012.

I hope that you all support our decision..

Latest on the ground

Eddie Brady our groundman has warned that no one is allowed to use the ground under any circumatances. So this is an early warning that Fridays training is off. Its disappointing I know but what can we do? We will try and make up lost time once the fine weather returns. If anyone has any suggestions then I would be happy to hear them.

The Junior academy will start on FRIDAY April 20th at 18:00 until 19:30

Remember you must be registered to train. You can do so this Friday from 7 pm in the club I will also be there on Friday 20th from 17:00 so you can register before the training commences.

Membership Renewal
Due to major problems at the printers we have not been able to send out fixture lists and membership renewal information. While we wait, members are advised that membership can be renewed with the sub secretary on Wednesday evening, 28th March between 7pm and 9pm, and for the next four Wednesdays.
Alternatively you can leave your payment in a sealed envelope(provided)
at the bar or post it for the attention of the subs secretary at the club address.

The Junior Under 13 fixtures has had to be redrawn as Thackley have withdrawn for the Under 13 League. This means that the fixture list has changed. Please go to FOR FURTHER DETAILS OF THE CHANGES.
This means that the fixture list for under 13 that will be in your handbook will be incorrect. Apologies but that is not our fault M'Lord.

Once again, the new year brings with it the bad news that the clubs principal supplier, Carlsberg Tetley, plan to implement a price rise across their range of products. This year the rise equates to 4.8% (approximately 9p per pint) and will take effect from Monday 9^th January.

However, the committee have been in determined negotiation with the brewery on behalf of the members and have reached an agreement which allows the club to maintain its current bar prices.



We hope members will be as delighted as the committee with this achievement - particularly in these difficult financial times when every penny counts.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your loyal support and wish you a happy and prosperous year in 2012.
