Operation Hoodie CC, the newly formed cricket team which raises money for Cancer Research UK.

Unfortunatly, the charities first fixture against the Kenyan National Side had to be postponed, as Kenya have recently undergone a fixture pile up during their UK tour. In spite of the news, Team Managers Paul Hutchison (ex Yorkshire) and James Clegg (FCC) have announced that the team will target university sides, before progressing to minor and full county sides.

Below are some of the large squad of players who have expressed a desire to play for the charity side:

  1. Yorkshire CCC Playing Staff
Operation Hoodie is the official charity of the Yorkshire CCC, and has received particular support from the players who have bought 26 hoodies in total. Operation Hoodie have had the ok from launch party attendees, Deon Kruis & Oliver Hannon-Dalby, who dismissed Mark Ramprakash recently. Another Yorkie to have expressed interest, after a recent volunteering role with the charity is England legend Matthew "Del-boy" Hoggard.
  2. Paul Hutchinson
Hutch, the ex-England A International is an Operation Hoodie committee member and team-manager of the side.
  3. Gavin Hamilton, Greg Wood & John Blain
Gavin Hamilton, is an ex-England All-rounder, with World Cup experience with Scotland in 1999. Another 1999 Scottish World Cup player is John Blain who is a known Operation Hoodie supporter, whilst Greg Wood is a current England U19 wicketkeeper who is a team-mate of Hutch.
  4. Sarah Taylor & Katherine Brunt
Chairman James Clegg is a good friend of Sarah, and has already received positive feedback from both England Women players. Taylor is current England Wicket-keeper and opening bat, whilst Katherine Brunt is the 2005 ICC Female World Cricketer of the Year. The England Women players have bought over 50 hoodies from the charity and are regularly seen at their super 4 fixtures.
  5. Middlesex CCC & Sussex CCC
Compo, is grandson to England Great Denis Comption and is a known OH supporter, who has donated money to the charity in the past. Other players from Middlesex to represent the charity include England's Ed Joyce, Chris Silverwood and England Lion Alan Richardson. Interest has also been received from Sussex CC's skipper Chris Adams, Zimbabwe legend Murray Goodwin and England wicketkeeper Matthew Prior.
  6. And a Load More
OH's facebook group is littered with Cricket talent, from Hollands Edgar Schiferli, to Aussie Haidee Tiffen...surely we can raise a team to rival anything in Cricket.
